FFA Tips and Tricks Video

In case you haven’t already seen it, we wanted to share a nice little video that swatllama made detailing some of his FFA tips and tricks on map metl3. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the mode this is a great way to help you learn some essential tactics, specifically keeping an eye on armor, health boost and quad spawns.  Of course there are many different ways to approach your own unique style, he explains some fundamentals and things to look for that will certainly help you become a better FFA player.

As much as i’d like to say this is a great thing to post, it really isn’t. I doubt anyone will watch and actually play ffa

You’re correct that there’s a lack of interest in ffa. When people try to get into it, they get wrecked by a degrave or a notas or a drakas, and then decide that the mode is stupid because they don’t know how to play it other than shoot, and go back to efficiency.

Hopefully by giving people some resources, they can improve and not get wrecked so much, and maybe ffa noobs can also play eachother for more practice, rather than having to constantly seek out the few experienced players.

I do not like ffa, even i can play it, and i do not remember the year when i won any duel in ffa (even i am sure i won at least once), i accept ffa as a great mode. I personaly do not like it and no advice doesnt help it, but still, ffa is really good mode. I have no time to learn something new, timing etc, many players “may use” timing scripts and ppl know it.

I still prefer team games, and id better play ctf, hold, then ffa duel. :D

Anyway, good job swat, next time maybe better, or higher sound. May its just my problem idk. Keep posting vids like this. Gj.

Yep, I’ve gotten a lot of complaints about the sound. It’s not going to be fixed in the next video either (Which is gonna be uploaded in some hours) but I think I figured out a way to fix the low sound issue. Too bad I remembered that at like 5:30 AM after I’d already done all the recordings.

I don’t think anyone is using a timing script at this point. There was a kind of big controversy, I think, during the PSL days, but I’m not sure anyone still uses that. People who play ffa (at this point) have an extremely strong respect for the game. Just watch even the best, like wtf?! and degrave, and you’ll see that they sometimes lose timing on the yellow even after they picked it up.

Ctf’s a great mode too, one I like, even though I’m the opposite of you in team-playing skills, and ctf/capture require a hell of a lot of team coordination to perform at a peak level. Some of these concepts can be applied to ctf, but in no way are they necessarily suited? I dunno, I’m a dueler. I’ll let someone else handle ctf :P

I don’t think that FFA is a boring mode actually.
People (including me) get wrecked really easy and lose all the hopes to become just a medium skilled player in that mode.
I guess that it is also harder than effic (a mode which I’m really looking forward to improve before getting into FFA and ctf).
Nowadays, new players don’t even give effic a try so it’s comprenhensible that FFA isn’t too popular and suitable for them.
After trying to get (at least) a decent effic level, I’ll try out FFA, it’ll be challenging and fun! :)
