The Sauerworld project is a central meeting point for all parts of the Sauerbraten Community, providing services for Sauerbraten. It promotes and hosts discussion between all parts of the Sauerbraten community - casual players, clans and competitive players, developers, mappers, content creators, and fans. Newer players are particularly important; Sauerworld helps them make their way into the community and get into contact with the veterans.
In addition to the forum and content hosting, Sauerworld will create a community-wide user login service for players and servers, providing player and game statistics. This service will eventually enable ranked competitive play with an
ELO- or
TrueSkill-like system. Players can compare themselves, have skill-appropriate matchmaking and compete in an unified ladder.
Sauerworld will also host a repeating Tournament, called Sauerbraten Day of Sobriety (SDoS in short), open to all players.
