2: Get PewDiePie, Markiplier, jacksepticeye, vsauce, or some youtube gamer to make sauer let's play

Plan #2:
pay a pornstar to play sauer and livestream it

Possible negative outcomes:
4: sauer overrun with more dick and penis than ever before

Probability such thing will happen:
Youtuber makes video, sauer becomes full of new players.  Eventually the players that are 'just there to check it out because of youtube' will disappear.  Soon after that, the hackers (there's gonna be hackers obviously), will eventually be all banned and get bored and quit sauer.  Any leftover people will be the new addition to the community.

Let's say 1 in 200 people that view the youtuber's video download Sauer.  Most of those video's average 1m-5m views over the course of a few days.
So, about 5,000 - 25,000 people might end up with Sauer downloaded.

Let's minus the 'just there to check it out', which will probably be the majority.
Can knock off about, 1000-10000 people.

Next, the trolls and hackers will eventually leave, minus another 500-5000

Those who are left after say, a one month period, are those who have taken interest in Sauer.

Best rough estimate of new community player count:
about 500 - 2500 new players, depending on the targeted community.

Rough estimate #2: about 1 new player per 500-1000 that view the YouTube gamer's video.



AND THEN

Tits on twitch, because more tits will be available.

Perhaps it only counts for me, but I haven't discovered and start playing Sauerbraten via an attempt to watch nude on YouTube or any similar service.
I doubt a lot of people actually did so, which makes the article in my opinion false.

You've forgotten why people actually play Sauerbraten and not games which look top of the bill; because it's freakin' free.
The graphics help a newcoming player to get more convinced it looks like a cool game, while the gameplay should keep the player interested enough to keep playing it.

I take a look of everything you wrote, I don't think my advice is really important for you but for me the best way is to try to contact PewDiePie and to see if he could do a video for us. I can also try to do the same in France with Squeezie and then we'll get a lot of new players.
Well, Twitch is a good idea too, but we need some materials like webcam (or a good camera) lights etc... So we need to find a player of the community to do that. You can also try to make publicity on Twitter or things like that. (example: I shared the video from sauerbraten.org released by Cooper)

Get better graphics, more user-friendly and perhaps a tweak to the gameplay to keep it or make it more interesting.
