Uploading this as a playable version of what is currently known as layout20d by Halbgar and will likely end up being HDM9.

It is basically done and play-ready. Just need to release it to the public to get some playtime on it by others as we've been staring at it for far too long and may have gone numb to some issues. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Is it correct that cube engine 1 is pseudo-3D like idtech1 and doesn't allow floors to be stacked on top of each other?

Is it possible in principle to convert cube 1 levels to doom format?

Hello.
I was unable to use the `writeobj N` command to write the map to object format. Also `savemap name` doesn't work. Does it work at all? Maybe additional conditions are required?

Mods / Quick Ogro skin selector

This simple mod allows you to switch the ogro skins without even needing to leave your game. F5 brings up the menu. After you press apply it will take five or so seconds to load the skins. Enjoy

How to set up.. put 'exec ogroselector.cfg' in your autoexec.cfg. Then move ogroselector.cfg and the zip files in skins.zip to your Sauerbraten folder-Documents\My Games\Sauerbraten.

Im sure there are better ways to make this mod, so feel free to improve on it. I just made this simple and easy to use

Hello,
I know this subject has already been discussed but i don't find any actual doc and the last subject has more than 4 years.

So, i'm working on a weapon and i would like to add it to the game without replace an other one.
Is someone has already succesfully do that or have an actual link to?
i'm trying and experiencing a difficulty : when i shoot, i inflict no damage to the bot.
I see my shoots, i see the impacts, and i see the red numbers above the bot, but it doesn't loose any health point.
I have this problem only with added weapon. 😒
Is someone has an idea ?

In 2021 OpenAI published DALL-E, a neural network capable of manipulating and generating images from text prompts (https://openai.com/dall-e-2/), it is still only available through a waitlist, but since then our dear open source people have come up with alternatives that we can use for free, and what do you do when you get your hands on one of these tools? you find a way to put Sauer in it of course :P
below I'll leave some experiments I did modifying Sauer screenshots using only text:

There are other variables you can apply in addition to the text prompt, so some results may look weirder.

If you want to try it on your own without a super computer, there are some "Image Generation Models" available on Google Colab and Kaggle, some require you to have a pro account on these platforms, others like the one I'm using (Lite's Latent Diffusion v9) just need a verified phone number.
